Jonas Azevedo Mendes, captain of Guinea Bissau’s national team, has vowed that they would rather ‘die’ than lose today’s match against the Super Eagles.
Mendes, the team’s first-choice goalkeeper, stated that they will go all out to defeat the Super Eagles.
When asked if there was a specific player in the Eagles squad they were interested in, Mendes stated, “we know Nigeria is a good team.” It would be a mistake to target a specific player. “We’re giving them all our undivided attention,” he said.
The goalkeeper was born in Portugal and has spent the majority of his playing career in the Portuguese third division.
