Nnamdi Kanu pleads not guilty to 15 charges as court adjourns case to Feb 16
Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has pleaded not guilty to the Federal Government’s 15 treasonable felony and terrorism charges.
Kanu pleaded not guilty before Justice Binta Nyako on Wednesday, January 19, at the resumed hearing of the case at the Federal High Court in Abuja.
Kanu, who was brought into the courtroom around 10:15 a.m., claimed innocence of all charges levelled against him, even as he complained from the dock that some counts in the amended charge were similar.

Justice Nyako noted in a brief ruling that because Kanu’s first application challenges the propriety of his trial as well as the competence of the charge against him, the court should hear it first. The court then adjourned the case until February 16 to hear the pending application.
