Member of Parliament for Essikado-Ketan, Joe Ghartey, ejected the bride price from her daughter’s suitor with the underlying explanation that “she is not for sale.”

The representative for the groom’s family clarified the father of the bride’s odd demand.

“We had one of the most fascinating conversations when we went to see our father, Joe Ghartey, to ask for his daughter’s hand in marriage. He just asked for a Bible to act as a guide in times of struggle and a ring to signify that this woman is married.
