After more than five years of marriage, ‘Love & Hip Hop’ star Lyrica Anderson has filed for divorce from A1 Bentley.
According to TMZ, the “Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood” star filed for divorce on Friday, January 7 at a Los Angeles courthouse. Other information is currently unavailable, but the couple has been open about their marital problems.
The “Act a Fool” songstress and the record producer, who has written for high-profile artists such as Chris Brown and Ty Dolla $ign, married in 2016, but the marriage was marred by a slew of problems.
Their relationship problems were frequently highlighted on VH1’s “LHH: Hollywood,” including Lyrica being accused of having an affair with her co-star Safaree Samuels during season 5 of the reality show.
Lyrica was pregnant at the time of the cheating allegations, but A1 and his immediate family insisted on a paternity test. He reconciled with her after it was determined that A1 is the father.
On November 30, 2018, the couple welcomed their son, Ocean Zion Bentley.
Their marriage was rocked again in season 6 when A1 was accused of cheating on Lyrica with model Summer Bunni. In an August 2019 episode of the show, Lyrica confronted them about the rumours of them sleeping together.
That prompted Summer to admit to Lyrica that she “had sex” with her husband “multiple times,” leaving her shocked and heartbroken. Summer insisted that A1 was the one who was at fault because “he came onto me.” She added, “He knows he’s married, too, so why is it always me? I came to you as a woman and let you know.”
Lyrica and A1 later appeared in a 2020 episode of “The Conversation” to discuss the marital woes they had following A1’s infidelity. “I did you wrong, made a mistake, cheated, you couldn’t get over it,” A1 told his wife.
Meanwhile, Lyrica admitted that she was having a “hard time being with someone who I don’t think will be completely faithful.”
By the end of the show, it was clear that Lyrica had decided to end her marriage.
