Kim Kardashian was originally denied use of Marilyn Monroe’s dress for Met Gala 2022

Because museum officials first declined her request, Kim Kardashian almost missed out on donning Marilyn Monroe’s “Happy Birthday Mr. President” gown at the Met Gala 2022.
When Kim’s team contacted Ripley’s Believe It or Not in Orlando, Florida, the dress was on display there.
The museum allowed Kim to try on the dress for a fitting, but the fitting “didn’t go well,” according to TMZ. Kim and the museum were both unhappy with the way the outfit fit her. Because the outfit is 60 years old and so delicate, the museum refused to let her use it.
Kim returned a month later, 16 pounds lighter, to try again. She was subsequently allowed to wear the gown on Monday night’s Met Gala red carpet.
She walked around in the original dress and took photos in it, but changed into a replica for the main event inside.
The gown, which has been returned, will be displayed at Ripley’s in Hollywood, CA, along with the other accoutrements she wore to the Gala.
