Amber Heard’s attempt to get Johnny Depp’s defamation case against her dropped was unsuccessful.
On Tuesday, May 3, the actress’ legal team filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit, but Depp’s lawyers countered with a lengthy speech.
Depp filed a lawsuit against his ex-wife after she wrote an op-ed in the Washington Post in 2018 about her domestic abuse experience.
Despite the fact that she did not name the Pirates of the Caribbean actor, his lawyers claim that this implies that he sexually and physically harmed her, something he has categorically denied.
The trial began in April, and Depp was one of the first witnesses called, along with Heard’s former nurse, their former couple’s therapist, and the actor’s security guard.
The trial is still ongoing.
