Beyoncé Removes Kelis Sample From ‘Renaissance’ After Credit Controversy.
Just a few days after Beyoncé was criticised by Kelis for sampling her on Renaissance, Queen Bey retaliated by taking the sample out of the song.
Fans of “Energy” who were listening on Tuesday noticed that the interpolation of Kelis’ “Milkshake” was missing from the song’s conclusion. Only TIDAL has been affected by the move; other streaming services have not yet been included.
This comes after Kelis criticised Beyoncé for not seeking her consent before sampling her 2003 hit, which was created by The Neptunes’ Chad Hugo and Pharrell Williams.
Beyoncé removing the Kelis sample from Energy is top tier petty, wow 😂pic.twitter.com/NTdwV29fHR

“The degree of contempt and complete stupidity of all 3 parties involved is stunning,” Kelis stated. “My mind is blown too.”
“Like everyone else, I learned about this. Nothing is ever as it seems since certain people in this industry lack moral character and integrity and deceive everyone.
Additionally, she charged that Bey had stolen, saying, “It’s not a collab, it’s theft.”
I’m so glad someone did this, because the first listen I missed it.

After the sample was pulled, fans responded on social media.
The most recent adjustment Beyoncé has made to Renaissance is this one. In response to criticism from the disabled community, she also changed the lyrics to her song “Heated,” which had previously used the ableist insult “spaz.”
